Give After Effects the same grouping possibilities as Photoshop

In Adobe After Effects, it is possible to make PreComps or use Parenting to set their relation. Pre Comps do not offer all functionailty, especially in 3D situations, and Parenting does not keep layers in sync.

A lot of times, I just want to stay layers together, in time and/or order. Wouldn't it be nice to have an advanced group option, to keep layers together (even in folders that can collapse and uncollapse?).
